After a tree is removed
a stump still remains ok if you’re in woodland but no
good if your planning a Garden shed to go in its place.
Stumps can be removed by digging, winching or grinding out.
Digging or grubbing out is best used when the stump is quite
small up to 6-8”.
Winching can be employed when there is a suitable anchor
available to attach the winch to.
Grinding is often the best method when a stump is big or there
are many stumps to deal with.
With a grinder the stump is reduced to a pile of woodchip
which is left to settle for as long as possible the hole can
then be levelled off to allow for landscaping and the resulting
mulch used for composting.
Alternatively when the conditions allow certain stumps can
be treated with herbicide to prevent further regrowth.
